UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Communication from his honor the Mayor re abandoned rails,
which at the meeting of October 22, 19^2, further action was delayed, was
Taken from table. Report of Committee accepted.
The order submitted with the foregoing report Is as follows:
Whereas^ the Boston Elevated Railway has agreed to
convey to the City of Somerville for a nominal consideration certain street
car rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track material lying in the
streets of this city; and
Whereas, said rails, track fastenings and other metallic
track material, are vitally necessary to the prosecution"of the present war,
and
Whereas, the City of Somerville desires as a con^rlbu-
tion to the war effort to make said rails, track fastenings, and other metal-
lic track material immediately available for war use;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
1. That upon conveyance by the Boston Elevated Railway to the City
of Somerville of said rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track ma-
terial, Harold A. Palmer, Acting Mayor, is hereby authorized on behalf of the
