This program is designed to prepare students<br />

who wish to seek employment in<br />

the heating and air conditioning industry<br />

or qualify for a more responsible position<br />

within the field. Courses prepare students<br />

for the EPA exam, which is required in this<br />

industry. Employment as a technician is<br />

available in both the public and the private<br />

Topics will include fundamentals of refrigeration<br />

theory and practice, introductory<br />

basic electricity, service of refrigeration<br />

equipment and accessories including compressors,<br />

condensers, evaporators, and<br />

metering devices. Review for EPA exam.<br />

HEAT 180<br />

Air Conditioning II<br />

2 Units Grade or P/NP<br />

A course in the fundamentals of air conditioning,<br />

including ventilation, evaporation,<br />

cycles, charging, air distribution, control,<br />

electrical circuiting, venting, duct systems<br />

and diffusions. Emphasis on equipment<br />

selection, balance, adjustment, maintenance,<br />

and service. Prepares students for<br />

EPA exam. 36 lecture hours, 18 lab hours.<br />

Heating-Electrical and Gas<br />

2 Units Grade or P/NP<br />

This course includes absorption systems,<br />

heating and humidifying, also heat load<br />

and heat pump systems, systems controls,<br />

boilers, and instruments. Prepares students<br />

for EPA exam. 36 lecture hours, 18<br />

lab hours.<br />

Electricity for Heating and Air Conditioning<br />
