A continuation of black and white photographic<br />

techniques introducing advanced<br />

methods as applied to commercial and industrial<br />

careers working with more specialized<br />

equipment. This course may be<br />

Prerequisite: Completion of, or concurrent<br />

enrollment required in, PHTO<br />

Extended black and white laboratory experiences<br />

to supplement those available in<br />

the regular program. Provides opportunities<br />

for students to pursue more advanced<br />

projects and experiments. The student<br />

who repeats this course will be gaining an<br />

expanded educational experience through<br />

supervised participation and instruction.<br />

Photography as an Art Medium<br />

Presents a background in the use of<br />

graphic arts processes and materials as<br />

well as photo techniques currently used by<br />

today. Manipulation of photographic<br />

materials will produce posterized, bas-relief<br />

and multiple-image high contrast<br />

Color Photography<br />

Deals with properly exposing and processing<br />

color film and color print materials. Instruction<br />

co<strong>ver</strong>s use of cameras, films,<br />

filters, color temperature meter, exposure,<br />

lighting equipment, and color analysis for<br />

color printing. 36 lecture hours, 90 lab<br />

Intermediate Color Photography<br />

Provides instruction in use of flash equipment,<br />

and lighting and subject contrast. 36 lecture<br />

Electronic Photo Imaging<br />

Strongly recommended: PHTO <strong>10</strong>1<br />

and 205.<br />

A course introducing electronics imaging<br />

using Adobe Photoshop 5.5. This course<br />

will co<strong>ver</strong> scanning of negatives and photographs.<br />

How to save these images on<br />

disk. Utilization of tools for modification,<br />

special effects filters, scaling of image,<br />

and printing. The use of digital cameras<br />

will be co<strong>ver</strong>ed. This course may be taken<br />

three times. 36 lecture hours, 90 lab<br />
