function, identification and application in<br />

in the techniques from Doo-Wop, Rockabilly,<br />

Rhythm and Blues, “Co<strong>ver</strong>s" to Classic<br />

Rock, Teen Idols and Girl Groups, with<br />

a focus on the small ensemble setting.<br />

Students will work extensively on these<br />

early rock and pop stylings and within the<br />

application of a small group, with the intention<br />

of public performance. Public performance<br />

This is a class for students interested in<br />

the music entertainment industry. Practices<br />

and procedures of artists and performers,<br />

video, and retail sales will be examined.<br />

groups, with a focus on the small ensemble<br />

setting. Students will work extensively<br />

on these rock and pop styling's and within<br />

the application of a small group, with the<br />

intention of public performance. Public<br />

on the medium size (15-20) ensemble setting.<br />

Students will explore the rhythmic<br />

and stylistic idiosyncrasies of this group of<br />

Latin American musical styles in sectional<br />

and full ensemble settings, with the intention<br />

The Professional Performance Techniques<br />

for the musician class provides the musician<br />

with the necessary fundamentals, to<br />

accurately assess a performance setting<br />

and make appropriate decisions for its<br />

success. The course stresses detailed style<br />

analysis in a broad range of musical settings.<br />

Logistical necessities will be examined<br />

and the course will culminate with<br />

musical performances. This course may be<br />

This course acquaints the student with the<br />
