Political science seeks to contribute toward<br />

an understanding of democracy, and<br />

toward equipping the student to fulfill the<br />

to careers in politics, law, teaching, civil<br />

provide a regional and comparative approach<br />

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior<br />

and cognitive processes. It is, therefore,<br />

of particular interest – and unique<br />

value – because it informs us of ourselves,<br />

the nature of what it is to be human. Psychology<br />

coursework, with its wide applicability,<br />

satisfies categories of general<br />

education and transfer to the California<br />

State Uni<strong>ver</strong>sity system, Uni<strong>ver</strong>sity of California<br />

system, and private uni<strong>ver</strong>sities.<br />

Further, while the Psychology Program<br />

provides much of the lower-division major<br />

preparation in psychology and many related<br />
