1. Sense of belonging to the anglophone school (10 minutes)<br />

What do you think of your school? What makes you feel connected, or not connected, to your<br />

school?<br />

If you wanted to encourage a friend to register at your school, what would you say to him/her?<br />

Do you feel happy or <strong>un</strong>happy in your c<strong>la</strong>ss this year? How did you feel <strong>la</strong>st year? Please give<br />

an example.<br />

What have been your personal successes at school? Tell me about your most important<br />

accomplishment. Give me an example for this year as well as <strong>la</strong>st year.<br />

2. Social belonging in the school setting<br />

Tell me about the people you feel close to at school.<br />

Do you feel close to one or more of your teachers? Tell me about an experience you went<br />

through with this/these teacher(s).<br />

Do your teachers praise you? How do they express it?<br />

What makes a person cool?<br />

Who are the stu<strong>de</strong>nts you generally hang out with every day? What do you do together at<br />

school? Where do you spend time together?<br />

Do you have a friend you can confi<strong>de</strong> in? Tell me about him/her.<br />

It’s consi<strong>de</strong>red part of growing up to have conflicts at high school. If you have ever had a<br />

conflict with a friend, how did you react? Tell me about a situation of conflict you have<br />

experienced.<br />

If someone asked your best friend to <strong>de</strong>scribe you, how would he/she do so?<br />

(comparison with Rosenberg’s scale)<br />

Do you have a brother or sister attending your school, whether yo<strong>un</strong>ger or ol<strong>de</strong>r? If so, how do<br />

you feel about that?<br />

3. Re<strong>la</strong>tions with parents (5 minutes)<br />

Do your parents take an interest in what you’re doing at school? Is it important to you that<br />

they do? Why?<br />

Does your family offer you encouragement when you have a school project to do? Can you give<br />

an example of a project you did?<br />

Do your parents insist that you return home at a specific time when you go out with friends?<br />

How would your parents (and/or school) react if they learned you had consumed alcohol or<br />

taken drugs?<br />

4. Participation in activities (5 minutes)<br />

What activities or interests are you really into? What makes you so passionate about them?<br />

Are you now involved in any school-re<strong>la</strong>ted activity outsi<strong>de</strong> your regu<strong>la</strong>r c<strong>la</strong>ss schedule?
