THREE MASTERPIECES BY GIUSEPPE VERDI, GIVING PRIORITY TO ELECTICISM FOR THE 2018-2019 SEASON.

En décembre, c’est tout d’abord la version concert de « Luisa Miller »
interprétée notamment par Roberto Alagna. En moins de trois
heures, l’œuvre de Verdi offre au spectateur le spectacle de la
métamorphose du prodige du théâtre lyrique italien en génie universel.
L’année finit en Verdi et débute en janvier de la même façon, dans un
éclat de rire, avec « Falstaff », mis en scène par Grinda lui-même. La
production de l’Opéra de Monte-Carlo, créée en 2010 et saluée par la
presse internationale, opère une jonction irrésistible entre les
personnages de Shakespeare et ceux du « Chantecler » de Rostand. En
février, place à Cécilia Bartoli qui interprète le chevalier « Ariodante »
d’Haendel avec les musiciens du Prince. Opéra envoûtant, « Ariodante »
offre une succession d’airs virtuoses et de mélodies captivantes dans un
ouvrage profond. En mars, autres temps forts de la saison, la venue pour
un récital de la superbe soliste Sonya Yoncheva, et « L’enlèvement au
sérail » de Mozart qui laisse libre cours à son inspiration la plus débridée,
offrant aux personnages des airs aussi techniques que spectaculaires.
Enfin en avril, voici une nouvelle production d’ « Otello » de Verdi dans
une grande distribution : Grégory Kunde, George Petean… pour une
grande fin de saison !

First of all in December, the concert version of "Luisa Miller" will be
performed by Roberto Alagna, among others. In less than three hours,
Verdi's work offers the audience the spectacle of the metamorphosis of
the prodigy of Italian opera into a universal genius. The year ends with
Verdi and kicks off again the same way in January, in bursts of
laughter, with "Falstaff", staged by Grinda himself. Created in 2010 and
applauded by the international press, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo's
production introduced an irresistible connection between
Shakespeare's characters and those in Rostand's play, "Chantecler". In
February, Cécilia Bartoli plays the Prince in Handel's "Ariodante",
accompanied by Les Musiciens du Prince. This spell-binding opera
offers a series of captivating melodies and exquisite music in a deeply
emotional work. In March, more highlights in the season, with the
arrival of the superb soloist Sonya Yoncheva for a recital, and Mozart's
"Abduction from the Seraglio" giving free rein to his most unbridled
inspiration, offering the characters technical and spectacular tunes.
Finally, in April, a new production of Verdi's "Othello" with a great
cast: Grégory Kunde, George Petean… for a superb end to the season!
