Fino agli anni ‘50 Filottrano si reggeva
su un’economia contadina, poi il lampo
di genio di un pioniere dell’industria
tessile, ha trasformato questa città nella
città della moda, in particolare della
moda maschile. Il “Made in Filottrano”
è rappresentato da grandi sartorie e
aziende manifatturiere che, nel corso
degli anni, si sono specializzare nella
moda uomo tanto che alcune di queste
realtà si sono trasformate in brand affermati.
Numerosi sono gli spacci aziendali
in città in cui potete dedicarvi allo
shopping di qualità.
Filottrano had a farming economy until the
1950s when the genius of a pioneer in the
textile industry transformed the city into
a city of fashion, especially men’s fashion.
“Made in Filottrano” represents the great tailoring
and production companies that over
the years have specialized in men’s fashion,
and some of these have become affirmed

Filottrano si trova nel cuore dell’ entroterra
marchigiano fatto di serene e
ordinate colline. Nelle giornate limpide,
rivolgendo lo sguardo verso sud-ovest,
si possono scorgere le principali vette
dell’Appennino Centrale, dalle più
lontane, la Maiella ed il Gran Sasso d’Italia,
alle più vicine il San Vicino e la
misteriosa “Sibilla”, mentre a est spicca
sull’orizzonte il profilo dell’unico monte
della costa adriatica, l’inconfondibile
Monte Conero.
Filottrano is located in the heart of the Marche
region hinterland, with peaceful, ordered
hills. If you look southwest on clear days,
you can see the main peaks of the Central
Apennines: from the farthest, Maiella and
Gran Sasso, to the nearest, San Vicino and
the mysterious “Sibilla”. If you look to the
east the horizon’s profile is marked by the
only mountain on the Adriatic coast, the unmistakable
Monte Conero.
Tradizioni
TRADITIONS
Nell’aprile del 1466, gli osimani effettuarono
dei saccheggi in territorio filottranese.
Durante l’incursione i filottranesi
furono sul punto di catturare un cavaliere
osimano che, pur di fuggire, lasciò
nelle loro mani lo stivale per il quale
veniva trattenuto. Lo stivale divenne
così il simbolo della rivalsa e ogni anno
i giovani filottranesi portato in giro per
le vie del paese, su di un cavallo, un
fantoccio di paglia che calzava lo storico
stivale. Da allora ogni anno, la prima
domenica di agosto la rievocazione
storica “LA CONTESA DELLO STIVALE”.
In April 1466, citizens from Osimo looted Filottrano
lands. During the incursion, the citizens
from Filottrano were unbelievably close
to capturing a rider, except that he got
away and they were left with just one of his
boots in their hands. The boot thus became
the symbol of their rivalry, and every year
the youth of Filottrano would carry a straw
puppet wearing the historic boot around
the streets of the town on a horse. Ever since
then, they have reenacted the historical
event with “THE RACE FOR THE BOOT” on
the first Sunday in August.
