Santuario S. Girio
S.GIRIO SANCTUARY
È uno dei luoghi di culto più
cari ai potentini. La chiesa fu
edificata sopra la tomba del
Santo (1298). All’interno vi è
un dipinto raffigurante San
Girio, opera di Benedetto
Biancolini.
One of the sites of worship that
is most dear to the town’s citizens.
The church was built over
the tomb of the Saint (1298). Inside
there is a painting depicting
Saint Girio by Benedetto Biancolini.

ST. FRANCESCO CHURCH
Le origini della chiesa sono
molto antiche (1222), quando
il Santo di Assisi arrivò con
un gruppo di frati a Potenza
Picena. Oggi l’Adiacente
antico convento ospita la Biblioteca,
l’Archivio Storico e
la Pinacoteca Civica.
The church’s origins are very
ancient (1222), and are from
when the Saint of Assisi arrived
with a group of friars in Potenza
Picena. Today, the adjacent,
ancient convent houses the Library,
Historical Archive and Civic
Art Gallery.

ST. AGOSTINO CHURCH
L’ex complesso di S. Agostino
è oggi sede del Centro
Culturale ‘F. Scarfiotti’. Tra
le opere custodite: l’organo
del maestro Giovanni Fedeli
di Rocchetta di Camerino
(1757) e il dipinto di Piero Tedeschi
raffigurante la Maddalena
ai piedi della Croce.
The former complex of St. Agostino
is now home to the ‘F.
Scarfiotti’ Cultural Centre. The
works it conserves include the
organ of Maestro Giovanni Fedeli
di Rocchetta di Camerino
(1757) and a painting by Piero
Tedeschi depicting Magdalene
at the foot of the Cross.
Convento
dei Cappuccini
CONVENT OF THE
CAPUCHINS
È stato edificato nel 1653,
grazie alle elargizioni dei cittadini,
sul colle Bianco, oggi
al centro del nuovo quartiere
omonimo. All’interno della
chiesa sono conservate importanti
opere d’arte.
It was built in 1653 on Bianco
Hill thanks to the citizens’ offerings,
and is now at the centre
of the neighbourhood with the
same name. The church conserves
important works of art in its
interior.

Tra le varie opere conserva
nella Sala Giunta la “Madonna
col Bambino tra i santi
Martino e Rocco” di Simone
De Magistris, 1584.

Bruno Grandinetti, si
occupa del recupero e della
divulgazione del materiale
fotografico, oltre a custodire
una ricca collezione di preziose
macchine fotografiche.
Located inside the Church of
St. Caterina, the Bruno Grandinetti
Photo Gallery deals with
the recovery and sharing of
photographic material, and also
displays a rich collection of precious
cameras.

La collezione più interessante
è costituita da una serie
di dipinti, provenienti soprattutto
dalle chiese demolite
del territorio comunale.
The most interesting collection
consists of a series of paintings
coming mainly from the demolished
churches of the municipal
territory.
Teatro Mugellini
MUGELLINI THEATRE
Il Teatro fu costruito negli
anni 1856/62, utilizzando una
parte del palazzo comunale.
Fu progettato dal G. Brandoni
ed è oggi titolato al
musicista Bruno Mugellini.
Dopo un lungo restauro si
puo ammirare l’antico sipario
dedicato alla dea Minerva e
da segnalare al centro del
soffitto riccamente decorato,
la bellissima tela dipinta da
Tirinell.
Mugellini Theatre The theatre
was built in the years 1856/62
using part of the town hall. It
was designed by G. Brandoni
and is now named after the
musician Bruno Mugellini. After
long restoration works, you can
now admire the old curtain dedicated
to the goddess Minerva.
You should definitely also observe
the richly decorated ceiling
in the centre, with the beautiful
canvas painted by Tirinell

dei Contadini
CONGREGATION OF
THE PEASANTS
Si trova sul lato Est del centro
storico di Potenza Picena,
sotto la chiesa Gesuitica di
S. Stefano. La Cappella della
congrega, dalle ampie volte
affrescate, venne fatta erigere
dai membri della Congregazione
dei Contadini. Bellissimi
affreschi ne decorano le
pareti e il soffitto, attribuiti a
Benedetto Biancolini.
This is located on the east side
of the historic centre of Potenza
Picena, under the Jesuit church
of St. Stephen. The Chapel of
the Congregation was erected
by the Congregation of the Peasants’
members and has large,
frescoed vaults inside, Beautiful
frescoes decorate the walls and
ceiling which are attributed to
Benedetto Biancolini.
Villa Buonaccorsi
VILLA BUONACCORSI
La splendida villa è adagiata
sulla collina, che da Porto
Potenza sale verso Potenza
Picena. Di origini cinquecentesche,
è stata ampliata
dall’arch. Bernasconi (scuola
del Vanvitelli). Il complesso
conserva ampi saloni decorati
da B. Brancolini. La Villa
è molto nota, anche all’estero,
per il prezioso giardino
settecentesco all’italiana,
articolato su 5 terrazze degradanti
unite da una ampia
scala centrale. Ovunque
piante rare, fontane, statue,
obelischi, nicchie e giochi
d’acqua, oltre a un teatrino
con automi, un’ampia limonaia
e alla chiesetta barocca,
nascosta da un cipresso
secolare.
The splendid villais set on the
hill that extends from Porto Potenza
to Potenza Picena. Of sixteenth
century origins, it was
enlarged by the architect Bernasconi
(Vanvitelli School). The
complex has large halls decorated
by B. Brancolini. The Villa
is well known, even abroad, for
its precious eighteenth-century
Italian garden divided into 5 degrading
terraces joined by a large
central staircase. Everywhere
you look you’ll find rare plants,
fountains, statues, obelisks, niches
and water games, as well
as a small theatre with robots,
a large lemon grove and a small
Baroque church hidden by a
hundred-year old cypress.

Sant’Anna
CHURCH OF ST. ANNA
Custodisce al suo interno
una interessante tela raffigurante
la Vergine, il Bambino
e i Santi Gioacchino e Anna
attribuito a Gian Domenico
Cerrini. Ogni anno, il 27 luglio,
si tiene un’importante
Fiera, durante i festeggiamenti
della Santa Patrona.
It houses an interesting canvas
depicting the Virgin, the Child
and Saints Gioacchino and Anna
and is attributed to Gian Domenico
Cerrini. Every year on 27
July there is an important Fair
during the festivals of the patron
saint.
LA TORRE DEL PORTO è
ciò che resta di un edificio
fortificato del XVI sec. All’interno
un piccolo museo legato
alla sua storia ed è visitabile
nei fine settimana.
THE PORT TOWER is all that
remains of a fortified 16th-century
building. Inside there’s a
small museum linked to its history
that can be visited on weekends.
