– 1 300 kg. In 2007 the Association established a subsidiary
company CATTLE MARKET Ltd. that focuses on the trading
of animals (slaughter as well as breeding).
Although this National Show takes place only every
second year and lasts for only one day, about 12 000
people attended the show and judging. The show was
held on the town’s sports grounds and, except for the
judging ring and small pavilion, has no permanent
structures. Judging was also attended by Dr. Jií Mach,
the Assistant Minister for Agriculture in the Czech-
Republic, Mr. Josef Matjek the Minister for Agriculture
of the Vycoina region and Mr. Bruce Holmquist from
Canada, the President of the World Simmental Fleckvieh
Federation at the time. The Vycoina region’s name
means “The Highlands” and is derived from the fact
that it occupies the vast majority of the Czech-Morovian
Highlands, an upland area with rolling hills and more
than one thousand small settlements. This area has
exceptional good conditio ns for the production of meat
and milk (15% of the country’s cattle are raised here),
