cálcio e magnésio, pois modernamente a árvore é descascada no campo.
ting board manufacturing, or that grow faster. This evolution is so constant that a eucalypt
plantation is often not allowed to deplete its potential and another one is planted with
seedlings with new materials resulting from advancements made in genetic selection.
Once the forest has been planted, it is necessary to control the ants, termites, and clean
the area until the plants are seven months old. By then, the eucalypt plantation will
have grown in such a manner as for the tree crowns to be touching on each other and
the lack of light on the ground will keep unwanted grass from growing.
At a year of age, eucalypts trees measure five to six meters tall and, as of the second year they
are so tall, the crowns are so open, that appropriate conditions are provided for a understory
to sprout. If such a understory does not form, often times it is because at six years of age, measuring
20 to 25 cm in diameter, the eucalypts trees are harvested. Slashing is now planned per
micro river basins in order for the entire area not to be uncovered simultaneously. When the
eucalypt tree is cut, the sacking on the soil, i.e., the leaves, twigs, and the bark, rich in potassium,
calcium, and magnesium, since these days the tree is peeled in the field. This protective
blanket decomposes slowly and will incorporate organic material in the soil and return part of
the mineral nutrients the plants removed from the soil and exported by wood removal.
