In general, there was a good correlation between the results obtained through the two<br />
different methods (CLSI and Etest).<br />
The microdilution technique (CLSI) on an ELISA device offers greater precision for<br />
test reading, eliminating probl<strong>em</strong>s with the subjectivity of visual reading. On the other hand, the<br />
complexity of the method makes it difficult to use it routinely, and the Etest is a reliable option<br />
with the advantages of being practical and fast to perform, despite its high cost. For these<br />
reasons, one can consider it as the best option for laboratory routine in cases of <strong>vulvovaginal</strong><br />
candidiasis in which in vitro susceptibility tests may be helpful.
