and that are transported by blood into working muscles
[10]. Within our grant task VEGA 1/4500/07 (Adaptation
on strain during a year training cycle at athletics and
other sports) we have observed VO 2
max changes and
shift of ANT with the top-ranking female member of the
national cross-country skier team.
Objective of the work
Objective of our work is an observation development of
endurance abilities at preparation period RTC with the female
member of the national cross-country skier team.
Methodology
Research methods
• To find out maximum oxygen consumption, which
is one of the limiting factors of endurance, we have
used spiroergometer on the ergocycle.
• To find out endurance abilities of aerobical character
we have used graded and anaerobical rerun
on roller-skies by skating technique at the distance
4 × 2 450 m to create so-called lactate curve and
thus determination of lactate level and heart rate
(HR) at anaerobical threshold (ANT).
Characteristics of tested person
The object of observation was a member of the Slovak
national team of cross-country skiing A.P., who was
born on 9 August 1984, height of 171 cm, and weight of
55 kg. She has been the member of the Slovak national
team of cross-country skiing since 2000, participated
at Winter Olympic Games in Tutino and in January this
year she represented the Slovak Republic successfully
at WWU in Italy in Pragelate, where she won 2 silver
medals. She became the world champion in discipline
of classic technique sprint at World championship to 23
years in Tarvisio, Italy. She has been going in for crosscountry
skiing since she was 12 years old; out of these,
she has been goinig in for cross-county skiing on top
level for 5 years.
Results
At the beginning of the preparation period the observed
competitress got through repeated graded test
on roller-skies (see picture 1, tab. 1). There, on the
basis of tangent lines to the curved line of exponential
lactate, the level of lactate was set at ANT as 3.8
mmol · l –1 , at speed of 20.36 km · h –1 and at the HR
of 178 bpm.
Before the beginning of the preparation period,
the observed competitress also got through spiroergometric
examination, where we recorded maximum
VO 2
max at maximum strain 280W, when the
observed person achieved maximum performance,
i.e. 58.15 ml · kg –1 · min. –1 . Similary significant indicator
is VO 2
max from AT, this value is on the level of
43.6 ml · kg –1 · min. –1 (t. z. 75% VO 2
ANT z VO 2
max). Value
of HR ANT represents 169 bpm/min. (what is by 9 bpm
less than at the test on roller skies – that is comprehensible
