IB School
AV’s educational programme for children
aged 3-18 (Early Years - Grade 12) is based on the
International Baccalaureate (IB). The IB is world
renowned for its high academic standards, commitment
to international mindedness and focus
on developing skills that will prepare students
for success in future educational endeavours.
AV’s comprehensive IB curriculum has a clear
framework of objectives and values supporting its
educational philosophy – a philosophy that aims
to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring
young thinkers who help to create a better and
more peaceful world through intercultural understanding
and respect.
Music and Arts
Following the principle that every student has
a hidden talent, AV’s core curriculum provides a
solid foundation in the Arts that allows students
to develop their interests and explore their talents
in the areas of music, art, drama and dance. Students
who would like to specialize in their area of
interest can enroll in the AV Music and Arts Academy
alongside their academic studies to work with
Creativity is
the key to
successful
learning
distinguished instructors to hone their skills and
grow as individuals. The Academy empowers students
to carve out a unique path of advancement
from the beginner to the professional level and
to become deeply proficient at their instrument
through intense study, practice, and performance.
Students also have several performance opportunities
both locally and internationally to
showcase their talents. A few of the celebrated annual
AV events include the “Gala Concert” at the
Musikverein which presents an impressive array
of top class soloists and ensembles; the “International
Dance Festival” where the entire student
body comprising 47 different nationalities puts on
a variety of traditional and modern dance performances;
the “Winter Wonderland Charity Event”
providing art displays and music, dance and drama
performances; and “The Big Sing” event in Bratislava
that connects international schools’ junior
choirs from all around Europe.
Originality is something wonderful, and a
gift for later in life. Chris Greulich, Head of the
School, takes pride in AV providing a stimulating
learning environment and likes to emphasise to
his students that “the creative thinker is best prepared
for the future”.
