In der Sektion „Renewables and Storage“ ist der Beitrag von Martin
Schönberg „Hydropower and taxonomy – Level playing field for renewables
or imbalance?“ zu erwähnen. Martin Schönberg hat in
seinem Beitrag gezeigt, dass auf EU-Ebene gleiche Wettbewerbsbedingungen
für Energieerzeugungstechnologien eine Illusion seien,
da sie weder von den politischen Entscheidungsträgern noch von
der Energiewirtschaft angestrebt würden. Die EU-Taxonomie sei ein
sehr gutes Beispiel, um erstens zu verdeutlichen, wie ungleich erneuerbare
Energien behandelt werden, und zweitens, um den unausgesprochenen
Paradigmenwechsel in der EU-Politik zu verstehen:
weg von der Technologieneutralität hin zur Förderung bestimmter
Technologien.
Die Programmgestaltung mit ausreichenden Pausen hat genügend
Zeit zur Diskussion eingeräumt und wurde von den Teilnehmenden
dementsprechend genutzt, um die aktuellen Beiträge und herausfordernden
Themen breit zu erörtern.
Wie bei allen vgbe-Veranstaltungen stand die persönliche Begegnung
und der Ausbau der Netzwerke auch beim diesjährigen vgbe-
Kongress wieder weit oben auf der Agenda. Die angeregten Diskussionen
und Gespräche im Vortragssaal und am Rande der Veranstaltung
sowie beim Get-together und der Abendveranstaltung haben
gezeigt, dass das vgbe-Organisationsteam dafür wieder den richtigen
Rahmen geschaffen hat und die Erwartungen der Teilnehmenden
erfüllen konnte.
Das vgbe-Team dankt ENGIE und Uniper für ihr Sponsoring sowie
allen Vortragenden und Teilnehmenden, die maßgeblich zur erfolgreichen
Durchführung des diesjährigen vgbe-Kongresses beigetragen

vgbe Kongress 2023 – Call for Papers
Das vgbe-Organisationsteam schaut bereits heute in die deutsche
Hauptstadt und freut sich auf einen neuen spannenden vgbe-Kongress
2023, der am 20. und 21. September 2023 in Berlin mit interessanten
Vortragenden, internationalem Publikum, wertschöpfenden
Diskussionen und einem attraktiven Rahmenprogramm stattfinden
wird. Unter dem Motto „Security of supply and energy
transition – Mission impossible?” ist der Call for Papers gestartet
und schließt am 18. Januar 2023. Mehr Informationen stehen im

broad spectrum of innovative, climate-relevant technologies bundled
at one location. Synthetic fuel is produced from water, wind
energy and CO 2 captured from air. It is a liquid, CO 2 -neutral energy
carrier that can be used, for example, in heavy transport, aviation or
the chemical industry.
In the section “Renewables and Storage”, the contribution by Martin
Schönberg “Hydropower and taxonomy – Level playing field for renewables
or imbalance?” should be mentioned. In his contribution,
Martin Schönberg showed that a level playing field for energy generation
technologies at EU level is an illusion, as neither the political
decision-makers nor the energy industry are striving for it. The EU
taxonomy is a very good example, firstly to illustrate how unequally
renewables are treated and secondly to understand the unspoken
paradigm shift in EU policy: away from technology neutrality towards
the promotion of specific technologies.
The programme with sufficient breaks allowed enough time for discussion
and was accordingly used by participants to broadly discuss
the current contributions and challenging topics.
As with all vgbe events, personal encounters and the expansion of
networks were once again high on the agenda at this year’s vgbe
Congress. The lively discussions and conversations in the lecture
hall and on the fringes of the event as well as at the get-together and
the evening event showed that the vgbe organisation team once
again created the right framework and met participants´ expectations.

as well as all speakers and participants who contributed
significantly to the successful realisation of this year’s vgbe Congress.
The vgbe organisation team is already looking ahead to the German
capital and is looking forward to another exciting vgbe Congress
2023, which will take place on 20 and 21 September 2023 in Berlin
with interesting speakers, an international audience, value-creating
discussions and an attractive side programme. Under the motto
