2) To build human rights learning envir<strong>on</strong>ments for disability advocates to<br />

advance their advocacy around human rights issues;<br />

3) To learn skills that participants can apply to their home communities.<br />

Each participant can pair off with another and share who they are and what brought them to<br />

the workshop and/or what they hope to get from it. Then each partner introduces the other to<br />

To introduce the fundamentals of human rights,<br />

Exercise designed to examine the fundamental human rights c<strong>on</strong>tained in the UDHR and to<br />

raise awareness of how these rights relate to each other.<br />

Exercise to help understand the role that language can play in supporting both positive and<br />

negative attitudes about the role of people with disabilities in society.<br />

Re-engage the group with a quick energizer activity, such as “Calling the Names” in which<br />

the group forms a circle and thinks of individuals who support, inspire or guide them in their<br />
