In the past Ham‘s F12 was the first choice for a serumfree
cultivation of CHO-cells and is now substituted through
better serumfree systems like our C6000, which is also
proteinfree. However it is an appropriate medium for mammalian
cells when it is supplemented with FBS. It contains
a high concentration of vitamins, amino acids and trace
elements. The content of zinc sulphate is increased and
it contains putrescine and linoleic acid.

Das Ham‘s F12 war in der Vergangenheit die erste Wahl
für die serumfreie Kultivierung von CHO-Zellen und wurde
nun von besseren, serumfreien Systemen, wie unserem
proteinfreien C6000, abgelöst. Dennoch ist es in Verbindung
mit Kälberserum ein adäquates Medium für Säugetierzellen.
Es beinhaltet hohe Konzentrationen von Vitaminen,
Aminosäuren und Spurenelementen. Der Gehalt an
Zinksulfat ist erhöht und es enthält Putrescin und Linolsäure.
