Placing concrete. As little rehandling as<br />
possible. If equipment used can cause<br />
segregation, is the concrete being unloaded<br />
into an approved spreading device?<br />
Strike-off. Is the concrete being struck<br />
full width to the approximate cross section<br />
of the <strong>pavement</strong>?<br />
Consolidation. Is one pass of an approved<br />
surface vibrator or internal vibrator being<br />
made?.<br />
Screeding. Are‘ at least two passes with a<br />
machine having two oscillating screeds, and a<br />
finisher float being made?<br />
Straightedging - Are at least two 3 meter<br />
long shoulder operated or surface operated<br />
surface trueness testers (straightedges)<br />
being used?<br />
Surfacing Texturing - Are State<br />
specifications for texturing and tining being<br />
followed?<br />
15, SEOUENCES OF SLIPFORM PAVING<br />
When the contractor uses this optional method for the<br />
construction of the <strong>pavement</strong> are the following<br />
sequences being properly followed:<br />

Is the formless paver capable of spreading,<br />
consolidating internally, screeding and float<br />
finrshing the newly placed concrete in one<br />
pass-to the required line and grade?<br />
Is the <strong>pavement</strong> being straightedged, edged,<br />
and textured as required in the previous<br />
question 14?<br />
Does the contractor have available at all<br />
times metal or wooden sideforms and burlap or<br />
curing paper for the protection of the<br />
<strong>pavement</strong> in case of rain?<br />
Is the contractor immediately'repairing all<br />
slumping edges in excess of 12.5 millimeters?<br />
