After reigning for 35 years and having reached the age <strong>of</strong> eightythree,<br />

Qubilai Qa'an passed away in the morinyil, that is, the Year <strong>of</strong><br />

the Horse, corresponding to the year 693/1293-1294,237 and left this<br />

transient world to his grandson, the Qa'an <strong>of</strong> the Age, the Illustrious<br />

Monarch, Temiir Qa'an. May God grant many years <strong>of</strong> happiness and<br />

good fortune to his noble uruq and in particular to the Emperor <strong>of</strong><br />

Islam, the Supreme Sultan Ghiyath al-Dunya wa'l-Din Oljeitii<br />

Muhammad (may God cause him to reign forever !)"*<br />
