Description<br />

Drystone masonry structure which<br />

serves as a water tank and which livestock<br />

can <strong>en</strong>ter. It has a shelter where<br />

water accumulates and prev<strong>en</strong>ts evaporation<br />

and water becoming dirty<br />

and has also an access ramp.<br />

For animal consumption.<br />

On a mountainous plain, coma de Son<br />

Torrel/a, Escorca.<br />

<strong>Materials</strong><br />

Limestone.<br />

Ground Plan<br />

Irregular.<br />

Roofing<br />

Roofed by putting together courses of<br />

stone to form a depressed vault.<br />

Facings<br />

Little dressed stone facings both in<br />

the internal structure and the drystone<br />

wal/s of the ramp leading to the water.<br />

Floorings<br />

Stone paved.<br />

Op<strong>en</strong>ings<br />

The only op<strong>en</strong>ing is the <strong>en</strong>trance with<br />

an ogival arch.<br />

Water collection<br />

The water comes from ground infiltration<br />

as it is below ground level, and<br />

from rainwater storage.<br />

Access to the water<br />

The water is accessed along a stone<br />

paved external ramp which leads<br />

down to the roofed area. The ramp<br />

goes down to 1.35m below ground<br />

level.<br />

Accessory /terns<br />

It has no accessory items due to the<br />

simplicity of its construction and use.
