Construction Features<br />

Two ways of crossing the Fornalutx<br />

torr<strong>en</strong>t exist on the des Puig track;<br />

one is a cobbled <strong>sec</strong>tion of river bed<br />

(a ford) used by people and animals<br />

wh~n th~ tQrrem i~ not flowing, and<br />

the other is stepping stones so that<br />

people can cross it wh<strong>en</strong> the water is<br />

flowing. There are 13 stepping-stones<br />

fixed in the ground on <strong>en</strong>d and more<br />

or <strong>les</strong>s the same distance apart. They<br />

are all of a similar size and have their<br />

upper faces dressed to make them<br />

roughly flat and to allow the <strong>en</strong>tire foot<br />

to be placed on them.<br />
