Convex facing downstream.
Facings
Double-faced terrace walls made of
dressed stone with rubble in the
middle which make braons (double
walls) more than 2 metres wide in
some cases and above the height of
the terrace in order to be more resistant
to water pressure. Some significant
features are the size of the stones
used to increase the retaining
wall's strength and the quite open
joints designed to improve drainage
in the event that the terraced field
should exceed its water infiltration
capacity. The last row of stones forms
a low crown levelling.
