Description<br />

Water channel betwe<strong>en</strong> drystone<br />

walls which collects excess water<br />

from the terraced fields and carries it<br />

to another watercourse or pothole.<br />

The arrangem<strong>en</strong>t of these types of<br />

channels varies a lot; they can run<br />

along the foot of a terrace wall and<br />

parallel to it to collect the water that<br />

runs down from the facing, or run at<br />

right ang<strong>les</strong> or diagonally across the<br />

terraced field, etc.<br />
