Managing Projects, Sandboxes, and Members
If no state is assigned to a revision at check-in, a default value of
Exp (for Experimental) is used.
To promote a member in the graphical user interface
1 With a Project or Sandbox window open, select one or more
members to promote.
2 Choose Member > Promote.
The Promote Member dialog box appears.
Note
:member appears in the Revision field indicating the member revision
will be promoted.
3 Select a new state from the Promote to State drop-down list, for
example, Beta.
4 To accept the new promotion state, click OK (for multiple
members, click OK to All). To cancel the operation, click Cancel.
The member is promoted.
To promote a member in the command line interface
Use the si promote command, for example:
si promote --sandbox=value --state=value member
where
--sandbox=value specifies the sandbox containing the member
you want to promote, for example, c:/sandboxdemo/
project.pj
--state=value specifies the state you want to promote the
member to, for example, Beta
