WIND POWER PROJECT
A wind power turbine is an oil free automatically operated
device that converts kinetic energy from the wind also
called "Wind Energy" into useful Mechanical energy; A
process known as "Wind Power".
If the "Mechanical Energy" is used to produce electricity
the device may be called "Wind Turbine" or "Wind Power
Plant". Here a generator converts its mechanical energy
into electrical energy.
If the "Mechanical Energy" is used to derive machinery,
such as for device is called a "Wind Mill" or "Wind Pump".
Similarly, it may be called "Wind Charger" which is used
to charge batteries.
The smallest turbines are used for applications such as
battery charging or auxiliary power on boats, which large
"Grid -connected arrays of Turbines are becoming an
increasingly important source of wind power produced
commercial electricity. Here simply stated a wind turbine
works. The opposite of an electric fan. Instead of using
electricity to make wind like a fan, "Wind-Turbines" use
wind to make electricity. The wind Turns the blades
which spin a shaft which connect to a generator and
makes electricity. Wind power ,as an alternative to fossil
fuels is plentiful renewable widely distributed clean
produces no green house gas emissions during operation
and uses little land any effects noise on the environment
are generally less problematic then from other power
sources. The monetary cost per unit of useful energy
produced by such device is similar to the cost for new coal
and natural gas installations although wind power is a
popular form of energy generation the construction of
wind farms is not universally welcomed due to aesthetics.
