DOMINO'S (PHYSICS
APPLIED IN BIOLOGY)
—Project depicts law of conservation of energy.
—Project shows transformation of potential energy to kinetic
energy.
—Project shows transmission of Nerve Impulse from sensory
organ to brain and back to effector organ.
—It shows minimum stimulus is required for transmission
of impulse in neuron.
—It shows nerve impulse travels without any hindrance.
—Blocks have been placed at equal distances and falling
blocks shows interrupted transmission of impulse from
one neuron to another.
— Impulse travels at a speed of 120 m/s.
—Energy needed for falling block is provided by potential
energy converted to kinetic energy.
—There is no wastage of energy in the whole project.
—Single colours represent one neuron and impulse
transmits from one neuron to next through Synapse.
Synaptic knobs secrete neurotransmitter Acetylcholine
into the space cold synaptic cleft
—There is refractory period for each nerve impulse during
which a neuron cannot carry any stimulus. Similarly,
some time is required for blocks to be set up so as to fall
them again to sure transmission of impulse.
—Breakage of myelin sheath around axon causes serious
diseases like Parkinson's diseases, Paralysis, Polio, Multiple
Sclerosis, etc.
Requirement for the Project :
1) A hard plane floor of 10 feet x 12 feet
2) Board of hanging minimum of four charts and flex.
