SANITATION IN
OUR RAILWAYS
2012
In India the railway is the largest network of transport and
second in world. Near about 80-86 % of the population is
using it as a mean of transport for both long and short
journeys. The rail bogies are almost beset with every
necessity of life but the waste (excreta, fecal matter or
urine) is scattered on the railway tracts which is
unhygienic and fatal for the population in nearby vicinity
and the passengers on the railway stations, waiting for
their respective coaches. My project/ model is designed
with such modalities that it recycles and reutilizes the
fecal matter along with urine and water to undergo special
treatment so that it can be converted into water for
vegetations, biogas for domestic use and even more than
bio-manure for the agricultural purposes.
