RAIN WATER
HARVESTING
Water is one of the most important elements and no creature
can survive without it. Human beings could not save and
conserve water and its sources, probably because of its
availability in abundance. The world is facing acute scarcity of
water. It is said that if any world war happens it will be for
water. The underground water level has gone very deep. The
storage of water is not problematic only in our country but also
at universal level. It is considering the problem; I selected this
topic as the only source and awaring of people to use water in
proper way.
Structure of apparatus and activity:- Three pipelines are
directed towards the ground from the roof which is as follows:
1. One of the pipelines is directed into the percolation pit
which is to increase the ground water level.
2. One of the pipelines is directed towards filtering chamber
which is connected to open wall which is used for drinking,
kitchen and bathroom etc. purpose.
3. One of the pipelines is directed towards the recharging well
which is used for agricultural purpose.
4. Then the rain water that falls on the roof travel through
these pipelines enters into the different chambers. Thus the
water is harvested, avoiding its loss as flow.
Qualities:- This can be easily made in multistoried building
and other houses so that water can be harvested and also the
installation of these water reservoirs can be promoted in our
locality in very easily and simple way.
Cost:-Each model Rs 1500 to Rs 3000
Conclusion:- The successful attempt of rain water harvesting
will reduce the problem of scarcity of potable water. This
presentation is based to find the solution of the above problem.
This can be applied in villages and town and metropolitan
cities. This will not only save the scarcity of water but it will
also provide field for fisheries Makhana, gTrapa cultivation
adding to economy of the people.
