Compendium of Projects Exhibited during the 2nd NLEPC - Vol I

GREEN HOME
According to IEA, xisting buildings are responsible for more than
40% of the world's total primary energy consumption and for 24%
of global carbon dioxide emissions. Hence the solution is a Green
Home. Salient features of my project are:-
Environmental Benefits:- 1. Clean energy through 74 watt solar
panels producing 500 watt/day.
2. Exfoliated vermienlite weathering course-decreases 5-8°c inside
home.
3. Improve air anality through roof gardens.
4. Chemical free treatment of drinking water by strychnos
polatorum.
5. Wastes create no pollution, as they become valuable raw
materials for enhancing soil fertility through vermicomposting.
6. Increased soil productivity through improved soil quality.
7. Increase in Ground water levels through Rain water Harvesting.
8. Recycling of water in Septic Tanks by Bacillus subtillis.
Social Benefits :- 9. Enhance occupant health and comfort.
10. Improve overall quality of life.
Economic Benefits :- 11. Provides additional source of income
generation.
12. Boost to rural economy.
13. Cost- effective pollution abatement technology.
14. Considerable amount of money saved on electricity by using
solar panels & vermiculture.
The implementation of my project will ultimately bring forth a
new dimension in economically distressed areas of India. Its cost
effective character will expand the saving and earnings of Indians
at large. It will help in protecting our dear mother India
environmental hazards.
