DISASTER MANAGEMENT
Aim:- To make the people aware about disaster and disaster which occurs
in specific areas so that they can prepare themselves to minimize the
effect of disaster.
Principle :- To show the following disaster zones in map.
1- Landslide Cause :- Earthquake, Deforestation, Excessive construction
on slopes.
Area :- Hillsides, valleys.
2- Flood Cause :- Large volume of rainwater enters river channel, when
a river becomes shallow due to deposition on its bed.
Area:- Ganga-Brahmputra basin
Brahmputra in Assam, Koshi in Bihar & Mahanadi in Orissa.
3- Earthquake Cause :- Volcanic eruptions & displacement of plates.
Area :- Foothills of Himalaya and Ganga-Brahmputra basin.
4- Tsunami Cause :- Earthquakes, Volcanic eruptions, Water explosions &
detonation of nuclear weapons.
Area :- Coastal region.
Required Apparatus :-
I. LED bulbs
II. Cardboards
III. Wooden plyboard
IV. Wires
V. Batteries ( 9 V)
VI. Resistance
VII. Switches
VIII. Decorative tapes
Methodology :- LED bulbs are fitted in areas of disaster zone on India's
map. For color full bulbs represents four disaster zones. Four switches to
show areas & to operate single disaster zones.
Structure :- Prepared on wooden ply board on which Indian map has
been prepared. Led bulbs are fitted on India's map represents most
affected disaster zones of India.
Results :- Switches have two functions pressing first option a bulb starts
glowing shows alarming center of that disasters, pressing second option
bulb starts glowing shows whole areas of that disaster.
Uses :- This project is very valuable and makes the people aware about
disaster which occurs in specific areas so that they can prepare
themselves to minimize effect of particular disaster.
