MALNUTRITION
'A NATIONAL SHAME'
introduction:- “Malnutrition is the condition that results from taking
an unbalanced diet, in which certain nutrients are lacking in excess (
to high an in take) are in the wrong proportions”.
“ Malnutrition is a medical condition caused by an improper or in
sufficient diet”.
Causes:-
1) Deficiency of nutrients in diet.
2) Scarcity of mother breastmilk.
3) Scarcity of pure drinking water.
4) Illiteracy.
5) Economic and unhyzenic conditions.
6) Premature baby.
7) The food materials that are supplied to Anganavadi's is of low
qualities.
Reasons for selecting this project:-
— First malnutrition case that was seened in village
'Malledevargudda' Dt Raichur which is near to our village
Kadadinni.
— During the period from April-2011 to Jan-2012 about 916
children were dead by birth due to malnutrition in Raichur.
— 68,000 children suffering from malnutrition in Karnataka.
— The panel's chairman and high court judge N.K. Patil noted that
many of these kids were in 'end stage'.
— In state syllabus 5th class science book chapter “FOOD-THE
ESSENCE OF LIFE”
Importance of the project:-
1) To preserve children rights and human values.
2) To prevent the shame on our nation in international level.
3) To provide,
* Balanced diet.
* Pure drinking water.
* Education.
* Good health to everyone.
