As previously stated, most of the nodes were established at the beginning of the
coding process. However, as coding proceeded, I realised that some important
nodes were missing; consequently more nodes were added. This created the
problem that some data were already coded and may have been more
appropriately coded into the new nodes which I had created. To deal with this
problem, I re-checked each interview and document and utilised some of the
new nodes if they were a more appropriate fit.
On the other hand, as I made progress coding the sources into the nodes, I
realised that several nodes were very similar and not sufficiently differentiated
from each other. In this instance, nodes were amalgamated.
