does not apply to (1) the table of contents <strong>and</strong> citations<br />

required by Rule 8-504 (a) (1); (2) the citation <strong>and</strong> text<br />

required by Rule 8-504 (a) (7); <strong>and</strong> a motion to dismiss <strong>and</strong><br />

argument supporting or opposing the motion. Except with<br />

permission of the Court, any portion of a brief pertaining to a<br />

motion to dismiss shall not exceed an additional ten pages in the<br />

Court of Special Appeals or 25 pages in the Court of Appeals.<br />

Any reply brief filed by the appellant shall not exceed 15 pages<br />

in the Court of Special Appeals or 25 pages in the Court of<br />

Appeals.<br />

(e) Briefs of Cross-appellant <strong>and</strong> Cross-appellee<br />

In cases involving cross-appeals, the brief filed by the<br />

appellee/cross-appellant shall have a back <strong>and</strong> cover the color of<br />

an appellee's brief <strong>and</strong> shall not exceed 50 pages. The<br />

responsive brief filed by the appellant/cross-appellee shall have<br />

a back <strong>and</strong> cover the color of a reply brief <strong>and</strong> shall not exceed<br />

(1) 50 pages in the Court of Appeals or (2) in the Court of<br />

Special Appeals (A) 35 pages if no reply to the appellee's answer<br />

is included or (B) 50 pages if a reply is included.<br />

(f) Incorporation by Reference<br />

In a case involving more than one appellant or appellee,<br />

any appellant or appellee may adopt by reference any part of the<br />

brief of another.<br />

(g) Effect of Noncompliance<br />

For noncompliance with this Rule, the appellate court may<br />

dismiss the appeal or make any other appropriate order with<br />
