RULES GOVERNING ADMISSION TO THE<br />

BAR OF MARYLAND<br />

AMEND Bar Admission Rule 6 to delete a certain certification<br />

requirement, to change the time for filing the petition, to add a<br />

certain provision concerning affirmation <strong>and</strong> certification of the<br />

petitioner’s eligibility, <strong>and</strong> to add a certain provision<br />

concerning the voiding of examination results, as follows:<br />

Rule 6. PETITION TO TAKE A SCHEDULED EXAMINATION<br />

(a) Filing<br />

An applicant may file a petition to take a scheduled bar<br />

examination if the applicant (1) is eligible under Rule 4 to take<br />

the bar examination <strong>and</strong> (2) has applied for admission pursuant to<br />

Rule 2 <strong>and</strong> the application has not been withdrawn or rejected<br />

pursuant to Rule 5. The petition shall be under oath <strong>and</strong> shall be<br />

filed on the form prescribed by the Board.<br />

(b) Certification by Law School<br />

The petition shall include a certification, on a form<br />

prescribed by the Board, signed by the dean or other authorized<br />

official of the law school attended by the petitioner, showing (1)<br />

that the law school meets the requirements of Rule 4 (a) unless<br />

the requirements have been waived by the Board pursuant to Rule 4<br />

(b); (2) that the petitioner either graduated on a stated date or<br />

is unqualifiedly eligible for graduation at the next commencement<br />
