CHAPTER 700 - DISCIPLINE AND INACTIVE STATUS OF ATTORNEYS<br />

AMEND Rule 16-760 to require that a certain notification be<br />

given by the Clerk of the Court of Appeals, as follows:<br />

Rule 16-760. ORDER IMPOSING DISCIPLINE OR INACTIVE STATUS<br />

(b) Reprim<strong>and</strong><br />

Unless accompanied by a reported opinion, an order that<br />

reprim<strong>and</strong>s the respondent shall summarize the misconduct for<br />

which the reprim<strong>and</strong> is imposed, include specific reference to any<br />

rule or statute violated by the respondent, <strong>and</strong> state any<br />

conditions imposed upon the respondent pursuant to section (h) of<br />

this Rule. Upon the entry of an order that reprim<strong>and</strong>s a<br />

respondent, the Clerk of the Court of Appeals shall give the<br />

notice required by Rule 16-723 (e).<br />

(e) Duties of Clerk<br />

On the effective date of an order that disbars, suspends,<br />

or places the respondent on inactive status, the Clerk of the<br />

Court of Appeals shall strike the name of the respondent from the<br />

register of attorneys in that Court <strong>and</strong> shall certify that fact<br />

to the Trustees of the Client Protection Fund of the Bar of<br />

Maryl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> the clerks of all courts in this State. The Clerk<br />
