This shows that, the GIA as a percentage <strong>of</strong> the geographic area is high<br />

and increasing in the coastal Andhra region. However, in its north coastal part,<br />

the percentage is lower and comparatively stagnant.<br />

Figure 4.14 below shows that in terms <strong>of</strong> total per capita GDP, the northern<br />

part <strong>of</strong> coastal Andhra is at par with the whole region, but in regard to the sector<br />

<strong>of</strong> agriculture and allied activities, its per capita income is less than half <strong>of</strong> that <strong>of</strong><br />

the total coastal Andhra.<br />
