Falck involve the community in two ways in their operation windfarms:<br />
Community Benefits:<br />
Trust fund established with annual payments related to the capacity built<br />
From this pot funds donated to support local projects<br />
Falck Established Community Ownership Scheme:<br />
Co-operatives are established at Falck windfarms so that the community has the opportunity<br />
to own a stake in their local windfarm alongside Falck<br />
Local residents offered the opportunity to purchase shares in these co-operatives<br />
Residents receive a return linked to project performance (subject to a guaranteed minimum)<br />
As an example, Boyndie <strong>Windfarm</strong> (near Banff) has an award winning scheme of a community<br />
co-operative with 700 shareholders
