subject to change, the nearest turbine is
approximately 1km away from the
boundary of Bonnyton Golf Club
4.The proposed turbines have not yet
been confirmed. It is likely that there
overall height (to blade tip) would be
126.5 metres.
5.The EIA is ongoing and the precise
layout is not yet fully tied down. It will
be similar to the layout you have with
some small changes.
6.Noise predictions and assessment are
being undertaken following recognised
best practice methodology. The
methodology, baseline information and
findings of the assessment including
how noise constraints have fed into the
developing design will be included in
the ES which will be submitted with the
planning application to ERC. The ES
will be available to the public at that
time.
7.Bird and other protected species
surveys and an assessment of effects
have been undertaken. The findings of
the surveys and the assessment will be
included in the ES which will be
submitted with the planning application
to ERC.
8. Information on the need for the
project will be included in the ES which
will be submitted with the planning
application to ERC.
finalised and separate consents would
8 Scotland has already met its 2010 targets, and
is close to meeting its 2020 targets. How do you
justify this windfarm in an area where there is so
much other wind power?
9 Where is your grid connection going to be and
how will the power get there?
10 Who is on your team of consultants?
11 A windfarm is an uneasy neighbour, and at
the distances proposed is bound to have a
dominating and pervasive effect on the amenity
of the club. Local Plan policies protect not only
residential amenity, but also recreational amenity.
How do you plan to get around the policies and
justify this construction in this location, so close
not only to the club, but to a number of
residences?
12 Where will access to the site be taken from? I
understand 100-ton cranes and other very heavy
equipment is required, and tracks will have to be
formed to take them to site. What route will there
tracks take?
13 Have you done hydrology/geophysical
studies to try to predict the ground conditions? Is
there peat on the site, and if so will it be
disturbed?
14 The paperwork says this is a good site
because it is near the central belt. Is it not the
case that windfarms feed into the grid for all of
the UK and it doesn't matter where they are?
Electricity is not consumed locally, so that factor
is irrelevant.
15 Do you agree that there will be cumulative
impact with Whitelee? Is it Falck's position that
since there are so many turbines at Whitelee
(recently extended) that a few more won't make
