Project Description
traffic and access
effects are assessed in
Chapter 4: Traffic and
Access
commissioned to assess the
current proposals
4. The lifespan of this windfarm
development would be likely to be
some 25 years. Decommissioning
of the windfarm site would take
place once the site ceases
operation. A financial sum or bond
would be provided by windfarm
developers for the
decommissioning and restoration
works.
5. The details of the project team
and the EIA methodology will be
provided in the ES. As stated in
leaflet the visualisations shown are
indicative and the final position of
turbines may change. The
visualisations have been generated
using a computer model to help
understand what the development
might look like. Further updated
visualisations will be included in the
ES
The draft access track layout of the
proposal as consulted on at the
public exhibition in October 2009 is
now available on the website
6. A location for some
infrastructure, such as the substation,
has not yet been identified
but once decided will be assessed
in the EIA and reported in the ES.
The timeframe for construction of
the access roads, infrastructure
and despoliation.
4. The lifespan of windfarms is around
twenty years, yet there appears to be no
mention of plans to restore the
landscape to its present natural wild
state. How you will address this problem
is a question to which an answer is
urgently requested.
5. I am particularly interested in the photo
montages which were produced to
support this proposal and which were
published in your promotional literature.
To obviate any suggest ion of them
being misleading, will you please outline
(a) The software used to produce them
(b) The computer programming model
used (c) The degree to which turbine
positioning will change in the plans (d)
The company contracted to undertake
the photography and montage work and
the costs involved.
6. What is not shown, nor mentioned, is
the location, scale and timeframe of the
construction of access roads and
infrastructure. Please address this
issue.
The above constitute some of my
observations on this proposal and your reply
will influence the degree to which I will place
objections before the planning authorities
