Wind speeds at the proposed site are predicted to be sufficient to produce enough power for a viable windfarm 2. A 40 MW output is miniscule in terms of national demand and raises serious questions about the viability of this operation. In practice, the site will generate about 30% capacity, or around 15MW. 2. The construction of such a windfarm will cause disproportionate disturbance and despoliation of the landscape. 3. The suspicion is engendered that this proposal masks future expansion to a level that will make it financially viable with, by definition, further disturbance and despoliation.
