Mat 27:2 e, maniatando-o, levaram-no e o entregaram a Pilatos, o governador. Mat 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Mat 27:3 Então Judas, aquele que o traíra, vendo que Jesus fora condenado, devolveu, compungido, as trinta moedas de prata aos anciãos, dizendo: Mat 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. Mat 27:4 Pequei, traindo o sangue inocente. Responderam eles: Que nos importa? Seja isto lá contigo. Mat 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. Mat 27:5 E tendo ele atirado para dentro do santuário as moedas de prata, retirouse, e foi enforcar-se. Mat 27:6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. Mat 27:6 Os principais sacerdotes, pois, tomaram as moedas de prata, e disseram: Não é lícito metê-las no cofre das ofertas, porque é preço de sangue. Mat 27:7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Mat 27:7 E, tendo deliberado em conselho, compraram com elas o campo do oleiro, para servir de cemitério para os estrangeiros. Mat 27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Mat 27:8 Por isso tem sido chamado aquele campo, até o dia de hoje, Campo de Sangue. Mat 27:9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; Mat 27:9 Cumpriu-se, então, o que foi dito pelo profeta Jeremias: Tomaram as trinta moedas de prata, preço do que foi avaliado, a quem certos filhos de Israel avaliaram, Mat 27:10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me. Mat 27:10 e deram-nas pelo campo do oleiro, assim como me ordenou o Senhor. Mat 27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. Mat 27:11 Jesus, pois, ficou em pé diante do governador; e este lhe perguntou: És tu o rei dos judeus? Respondeu-lhe Jesus: É como dizes. Mat 27:12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Mat 27:12 Mas ao ser acusado pelos principais sacerdotes e pelos anciãos, nada respondeu. Mat 27:13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? Mat 27:13 Perguntou-lhe então Pilatos: Não ouves quantas coisas testificam contra ti? Mat 27:15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. Mat 27:15 Ora, por ocasião da festa costumava o governador soltar um preso, escolhendo o povo aquele que quisesse. Mat 27:16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Mat 27:16 Nesse tempo tinham um preso notório, chamado Barrabás. Mat 27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? Mat 27:17 Portanto, estando o povo reunido, perguntou-lhe Pilatos: Qual quereis que vos solte? Barrabás, ou Jesus, chamado o Cristo? Mat 27:18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. Mat 27:18 Pois sabia que por inveja o haviam entregado. Mat 27:19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. Mat 27:19 E estando ele assentado no tribunal, sua mulher mandou dizer-lhe: Não te envolvas na questão desse justo, porque muito sofri hoje em sonho por causa dele. Mat 27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. Mat 27:20 Mas os principais sacerdotes e os anciãos persuadiram as multidões a que pedissem Barrabás e fizessem morrer Jesus. Mat 27:21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. Mat 27:21 O governador, pois, perguntou-lhes: Qual dos dois quereis que eu vos solte? E disseram: Barrabás. Mat 27:22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. Mat 27:22 Tornou-lhes Pilatos: Que farei então de Jesus, que se chama Cristo? Disseram todos: Seja crucificado. Mat 27:23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. Mat 27:23 Pilatos, porém, disse: Pois que mal fez ele? Mas eles clamavam ainda mais: Seja crucificado. Mat 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Mat 27:24 Ao ver Pilatos que nada conseguia, mas pelo contrário que o tumulto aumentava, mandando trazer água, lavou as mãos diante da multidão, dizendo: Sou inocente do sangue deste homem; seja isso lá convosco. Mat 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. Mat 27:25 E todo o povo respondeu: O seu sangue caia sobre nós e sobre nossos filhos.
