Degree Requirements<br />

The degree <strong>of</strong> Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Space Systems Management is<br />

conferred upon students who have successfully completed 36 credit<br />

hours <strong>of</strong> graduate work plus other course requirements as listed on the<br />

student’s approved graduate program plan. Students without adequate<br />

undergraduate background will be required to complete all or part <strong>of</strong><br />

the program prerequisites listed below.<br />

Six courses with a clear focus on management are required. These<br />

course may be from the foundation, core or elective courses <strong>of</strong>fered<br />

by the Nathan M. Bisk College <strong>of</strong> Business, via distance learning from<br />

extended studies, or from courses with a management emphasis from<br />

other academic units at <strong>Florida</strong> Tech. Students must submit a program<br />

plan to the academic unit head outlining the six management courses<br />

to fulfill the curriculum requirement. Also, students must meet all<br />

The goal <strong>of</strong> the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Supply Chain Management is to<br />

prepare individuals for operational leadership within the private forpr<strong>of</strong>it,<br />

nonpr<strong>of</strong>it and local government sectors, including the military.<br />

Admission Requirements<br />

The applicant to the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Supply Chain Management<br />

program must have a bachelor’s degree with an acceptable cumulative<br />

GPA from all regionally accredited colleges attended. Preferred<br />

applicants will have pr<strong>of</strong>essional work experience or developing<br />

interest in the areas <strong>of</strong> innovation and entrepreneurship in supply<br />

chain management or logistics.<br />

General admission requirements and the process for applying are discussed<br />

in the Academic Overview <strong>of</strong> this catalog. Individuals who do<br />

not meet the stated requirements for regular admission may petition<br />

to take graduate courses for credit as a continuing education applicant.<br />

Degree Requirements<br />

The master’s degree is conferred upon students who have successfully<br />

completed 30 credit hours in the core curriculum. Students with bachelor’s<br />

degrees in areas other than business will be required to complete<br />

Essentials <strong>of</strong> Business Development 1 (BUS 5601) and Essentials <strong>of</strong><br />

Business Development 2 (BUS 5602).<br />

Students with undergraduate credits for courses that they believe<br />

are equivalent to the program prerequisites should consult with their<br />

advisor concerning waiver <strong>of</strong> those prerequisites.<br />

The applicant to the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Systems Management program<br />

must have a bachelor’s degree; however, the degree need not be<br />

in business administration. Students who are graduates from other<br />

fields, especially mathematics, science and engineering, are encouraged<br />

to apply. Students with an undergraduate business degree or<br />

courses may be able to waive up to 12 hours <strong>of</strong> the program prerequisites<br />

in the program based on an evaluation <strong>of</strong> their undergraduate<br />

academic transcripts. Prerequisite courses are required <strong>of</strong> a student<br />

whose undergraduate major is outside the business area or who has<br />

not previously completed the courses in these prerequisite areas. The<br />

exact number <strong>of</strong> needed prerequisite courses depends on courses<br />

completed during the student’s undergraduate studies. The GRE or<br />

GMAT may be required for admission evaluation purposes. General<br />
