5.7 Who will be involved?
5.7.1 When consulting on the LDF and other documents it involves a considerable number
of interested parties and bodies. Appendix 2 lists the Specific Consultation Bodies as
set out in Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations
2004 and in Planning Policy Statement 12: Local Development Frameworks (Annex
E). These are the bodies with whom the Council must consult.
5.7.2 In addition to the Specific Consultation Bodies, the Council will make every
endeavour to involve:
• Local Residents and Visitors
• Interest and Voluntary Groups
• Racial, ethnic or national bodies
• Religious groups
• Disability groups
• Business and Commercial Sector
• Land and Property Owners
5.7.3 Historically, it has proven difficult to involve ‘hard to reach’ and minority groups in
Scarborough, however, we will continue to cast the net as wide as possible to engage
the whole community. We will specifically target ethnic minority groups, disability
groups, the elderly and youth groups with invitations to presentations and exhibitions.
The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) also provides a link to such groups and updates
on the LDF and associated documents will be reported to the LSP on a regular basis
and comments taken on board.
