4.3.2 When consulting on the LDF and other documents it involves a considerable number <strong>of</strong><br />

interested parties and bodies. Appendix 2 sets out the bodies which the Council must<br />

consult.<br />

4.3.3 In addition to the various Statutory bodies, the Council will make every endeavour to<br />

involve:<br />

• Local Residents and Visitors<br />

• Interest and Voluntary Groups<br />

• Business and Commercial Sector<br />

• Land and Property Owners<br />

4.3.4 The Council has a database with all known consultees and interested parties and if<br />

further groups or members <strong>of</strong> the public express an interest they can be added to the<br />

consultee list. Furthermore, anyone who makes representations on an Issues Paper or<br />

any subsequent LDF consultation is automatically kept informed <strong>of</strong> progress.<br />

4.3.5 Appendix 3 details the non-statutory bodies and organisations that the Council has<br />

consulted with in the past and will continue to do so on future planning documents.<br />

4.4 How Will the Community be Involved?<br />

4.4.1 It has been the Borough Council’s standard practice to involve the community in policy<br />

making and when considering planning applications. However, the new regulations and<br />

guidance have allowed the Council to re-think and look critically at current methods<br />

and techniques used to involve the public.<br />
