What is the Purpose of this Consultation?
community in the planning process.
1.2 The Council wishes to involve all members of the community, residents, businesses,
community groups and others, in planning the future development of the Borough.
1.3 To help the community become involved in the planning process, whether in
formulating new policies and proposals in the new Local Development Framework or
commenting on planning applications, the Borough Council is preparing a statement of
who, when and how people will be involved.
1.4 This will be set out eventually in a document called the “Statement of Community
Involvement”.
1.5 There are many ways in which this involvement could be achieved and to inform what
appropriate approach.
to keep you and other people involved in ‘Planning in Scarborough Borough’.
