Dear Sir/Madam<br />
<strong>Scarborough</strong> Borough Council Local Development Framework:<br />
Draft <strong>Statement</strong> <strong>of</strong> Community Involvement (<strong>SCI</strong>)<br />
The Borough Council is preparing a <strong>Statement</strong> <strong>of</strong> Community Involvement (<strong>SCI</strong>) to improve<br />
participation in the preparation <strong>of</strong> plans for the future development <strong>of</strong> the Borough (through<br />
preparation <strong>of</strong> a Local Development Framework) and provide greater understanding and<br />
transparency in dealing with planning applications and other specific development proposals<br />
(through the Development Control process). Following an initial consultation exercise the<br />
Council has considered the comments received and prepared a Draft <strong>SCI</strong> for general<br />
consultation.<br />
A copy <strong>of</strong> the document is available to view at www.scarborough.gov.uk and an online<br />
questionnaire can also be completed there. The document is also available for inspection at<br />
<strong>Scarborough</strong> Town Hall, Whitby Council Offices, Filey Evron Centre and local libraries. If<br />
you are unable to view a copy and are interested in making comments a CD or paper copy<br />
can be provided on request, from the Forward Planning Office. I would be obliged if you<br />
could submit any comments you have on the <strong>SCI</strong> by 5pm on 17 February 2006.<br />
If I do not receive a response I will assume you no longer wish to be involved in the<br />
<strong>Statement</strong> <strong>of</strong> Community Involvement process and will remove your details from the <strong>SCI</strong><br />
consultation list. I will, however, continue to consult you on other elements <strong>of</strong> the Local<br />
Development Framework.<br />
If you no longer wish to receive updates on any elements <strong>of</strong> the Local Development<br />
Framework, I would appreciate confirmation in writing, by e-mail or by phone so that your<br />
details can be removed from the consultation database.<br />
