3.7 Monitoring and Review
3.7.1 As part of the LDF, the Council must submit to Government an Annual Monitoring
Report to assess progress with the LDF and all the relevant documents. It is logical
that any consultation exercises carried out are reported on within the AMR as a basis
for monitoring and reviewing the success or failure of the consultation methods
included within the SCI.
3.7.2 The monitoring of the SCI will allow the Council to learn from consultation exercises
and, where necessary, improve, update or alter arrangements for consultation
exercises in the future.
3.7.3 Revisions to the SCI may also be necessary when the Government updates legislation
and guidance. Similarly, when new techniques of communication and consultation
come forward it will be necessary to update the SCI. An example of this may be the
mainstream roll out of digital services through television equipment and the potential
to access information through this medium.
