5.7.4 The Council has a database with all known consultees and interested parties and if<br />
further groups or members <strong>of</strong> the public express an interest they can be added to the<br />
consultee list. Furthermore, anyone who makes representations on an Issues Paper or<br />
any subsequent LDF consultation is automatically kept informed <strong>of</strong> progress.<br />
5.7.5 Appendix 3b categorises the general consultation bodies and organisations that the<br />
Council has consulted with in the past and will continue to do so on future planning<br />
documents.<br />
5.8 How Will I Be Able to Comment?<br />
5.8.1 The Borough Council will make it as easy as possible for you to make your comments<br />
on published documents. You can respond in the following ways:<br />
• Returning Paper Forms attached to published documents by post or at designated<br />
collection points; e.g. <strong>Scarborough</strong> Town Hall, Filey Evron Centre, Whitby<br />
Council Offices.<br />
• Completing online forms electronically (you will be able to print out your<br />
comments for your own records).<br />
• By E-Mail direct to Forward Planning.<br />
• Returning Forms or Letters by Fax.<br />
• By bespoke letter.<br />
• By telephoning your comments.<br />
5.9 What Will Happen to my Comments?<br />
5.9.1 If you make representations, your details will be kept on our database and you will be<br />
kept informed <strong>of</strong> progress as follows:<br />
• All respondents will receive a letter <strong>of</strong> acknowledgement within 5 working<br />
days.<br />
• All relevant comments submitted will be recorded, considered and along with<br />
the Officers’ response taken before the relevant Committee.<br />
• Feedback will be available for inspection as soon as possible following<br />
completion <strong>of</strong> consultation periods and consideration <strong>of</strong> the issues raised.<br />
• The reports prepared for the appropriate Committee Meeting will be available<br />
on the Council’s Website or to view at Council Offices prior to the meeting.<br />
• Where there are objections that are capable <strong>of</strong> resolution the Council will<br />
negotiate with objectors.<br />
5.10 Other Methods <strong>of</strong> Community Engagement (Community Strategy and Other<br />
Plans)<br />
5.10.1 Outside <strong>of</strong> the normal consultation procedures and community engagement<br />
encouraged by the Local Planning Authority, members <strong>of</strong> the public and interested<br />
groups can become involved in consultation exercises on related strategies and plans<br />
which will have a direct impact on the content <strong>of</strong> the LDF.<br />
