Scarborough Borough Council Local Development Framework:
Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
The Borough Council is preparing a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) to improve
participation in the preparation of plans for the future development of the Borough (through
preparation of a Local Development Framework) and provide greater understanding and
transparency in dealing with planning applications and other specific development proposals
(through the Development Control process). Following an initial consultation exercise the
Council has considered the comments received and prepared a Draft SCI for general
consultation.
A CD is enclosed containing a copy of the draft SCI, a Questionnaire and Notice of Proposals
Matters. The document is also available to view on the Council’s web-site and the
questionnaire can be completed online. I would be obliged if you could submit any comments
you have on the SCI by 5pm on 17 February 2006.
