Objectives The participant can:
> Describe the essential differences between the mechanical engine components of the
OM651 and those of predecessor models
> Explain the design and basic function of the CDI system
> Describe the differences between the CDI 3, CDI 4 and CDI-D systems
> Describe the current design and function of the air intake, charging, exhaust gas
recirculation and exhaust aftertreatment
> Use and evaluate DAS test programs
Contents > Special features of the mechanical engine components
> Injection systems with piezo injectors, solenoid injectors, Bosch and Delphi
> Fuel circuit
> Charging
> Exhaust aftertreatment, diesel particulate filter
> Air intake, exhaust gas recirculation
> Testing and diagnostic work
> Interaction of the injection system with the peripheral systems
